Souvlaki

Souvlaki is also a popular Greek street food. It is a tasty skewer made with pork, lamb or chicken, previously marinated in oil, lemon and spices, and later cooked on the barbecue. Although it literally means “spit”, the term souvlaki may also refer to meat served on the plate or inside the pita. In the first case we are faced with souvlaki merida, while in the second it is the souvlaki pita.
