Monastery of Panaghia Faneromeni

Just outside the capital driving westwards sthere is this splendid monastery. It is one of the most significant religious monuments of Hellenic Christianity, visited by the Apostle Paul and continued to be the place where his followers preached his Gospel. Inside it a small zoo and important religious relics. In addition, the monks’ cells are made available to pilgrims if necessary. A feeling of peace and serenity as soon as you cross the threshold.
